6th Vannes Tattoo and Comic Convention

Images from the 6th convention, where Tarek and Violaine Pondard signed books.

Tarek Ben Yakhlef, alias Tarek, was born in Paris in 1971. Gifted at school, a great lover of reading and passionate about history, he knew from an early age what he wanted to do in life: write books. To tell stories, whether in text or images. Although this was not his intended profession, he overcame every obstacle in his path, putting his heart and soul into his studies and nurturing a single objective: to become the master of his own destiny and professional choices. Observing and taking part in the birth of graffiti in France, he became the author of his first book, Paris Tonkar, in 1991, at the age of just 20, which went on to become a reference in France and Europe. In 1995, he moved to Syria for 24 months to work at the French Cultural Centre in Damascus, where he immersed himself in the history of the Middle East. In 2000, he published his first comic strip as a scriptwriter. His series Sir Arthur Benton and La Guerre des Gaules brought him success and international renown. In 2010, he returned to his first passion, painting, and gradually began exhibiting his work in galleries around the world.
